October: One of the most loved months of the year is here! I think everyone woke up today and felt some sort of happiness knowing it was the month of October. Over the next few weeks, I’m really focusing on my mental health and overall wellness. The insanity of what’s happening in this world and with this country has definitely taken a toll on me, as I’m sure it has for you too.
I need less screen time and more time outside. I also need to spend my time focusing on what I love and things that bring joy. It sounds cliché, but when the world is on fire (literally + figuratively), it’s the little things that help.
Luckily, it’s one of my favorite season’s, so making the best of it! On the home front, we’re getting extra cozy with lots of candles, plush blankets and touches of nature. I’m not going too crazy this year with fall deco, as we are hoping this will be our last fall in the apartment, so I’m keeping things simple. But I’m finally going to order picture frames for the latest prints I bought – it’s taken me a while to land on this!
For travel, we’re planning on day trips throughout New England to explore the many quintessential charms. First up is Salem, so expect a weekend moments post next week!
I’m also looking forward to:
Baking an apple pie (first time!) with all of the apples we picked at Smolak Farms.
Hiking on a brisk morning + appreciating the changing colors of the leaves.
Reading in bed on a Sunday morning with tea.
Drinking a warm red glass of wine by a bonfire.
Smelling the wood burning fireplaces while on a walk at dusk.
Creating a fall tablescape for a beautiful dinner outside with friends.
Fall Edit
Enjoy this magical month.
xx Christine
