Whenever a new season begins, I get in my most inspirational moods. I don’t know why but things start to feel fresh and exciting again. Now that Spring is starting to spring into action, I’ve been in the mood to incorporate lighter clothing, lighter foods and more outside time.
I’m loving the relaxed, romantic style in clothing lately and have been gravitating towards white and warmer tones. For many months, I’ve been wearing dark, moodier tones so it’s time to brighten things up! I’ve also fallen in love with dresses again. I’ve been living in jeans and while I can always do that, it’s nice to put on a midi length dress and feel the warmth on your legs again. I’ve also been on the hunt for long lasting Spring/Summer shoes that I can re-wear each season. I’ve found these woven mules from Etsy and am patiently awaiting until they arrive at the door!
Now that everything is blooming outside, it’s given me the push to add more greenery in our apartment. I’ve always stayed away from adding indoor plants because I literally have a black thump. But articles like these and these have given me the hope ! I’m going to start easy and small with a Aloe Vera plant in my bathroom. I totally want to utilize having fresh aloe vera for my skin, especially from sun burns during this time of the year.
Fresh foods and eating outside is easily one of my favorite parts of the warmer months here in New England. The food taste better and we tend to enjoy our meals and company a bit more when we spend the time outside. Farmer markets will begin again soon and I can’t wait to go. There’s one right down the street from me and will start back up in June….yes! If your looking for a new cookbook, I highly recommend Eat Pretty. This book basically breaks down which foods are best to eat for you during the different seasons and overall health. Jolene Hart (author and beauty & health coach) does a great job simplifying which foods are best for your body and skin in such a easy informational way. For Spring, asparagus, arugula, lemon, spinach and strawberries are in season right now so when shopping for your fruits and veggies, stick with these and you will get them at a fresher and lower price point.
As you can tell, I’m clearly excited for the warm months ahead and the recharge that comes with Spring!
