Oh 2018, what a year it’s been. This past year has been filled with some ups and downs but overall, it was a great year. I mean…. I got to marry my best friend and celebrate our love with all of our friends and family. I say that’s pretty great! Although planning a wedding was stressful at times, it was a great excuse to see my family and friends a lot more than usual. Looking back, I found that to be really nice.
When looking at my 2018 aspiration and goals, I immediately started to think about the things on the list I didn’t accomplish, instead of all of the wonderful things I did do. Let’s stop that and think more with a glass half full approach! Sooo what did I do? I really tackled my clean beauty and skincare routine and my face feels the best it’s ever been. I slowed down when I needed to and really appreciated the small things in life. I became really strict with myself (in a good way) with using less plastic and incorporating other ways to be better for the environment. And I did a lot of planning for the wedding. Having our wedding was my main focus and goal for the year and with a lot of help, we did it!
Okay, moving on to 2019. I’m so excited for this year in many ways. With the wedding over, I can attack a lot of things I had to push a side (this blog being a major one). So instead of listing out the specific resolutions of what I want to do, I bucketed three areas (basically intentions) I want to focus on:
FOCUS | ORGANIZE | TRAVEL
Focus: I really want to hone in on what’s important to me and tackle work with a layer of concentration. There’s a lot things I’ve been putting off that I finally want to accomplish, let’s get shit done.
Organize: Less is more. So this year, I want to declutter our apartment from head to toe, organize our finances and simplify processes in our life. When I’m organized, I truly feel my best.
Travel: We have so many trips already planned this year that I’m so excited for! Spoiler alert: we are going back to Ireland in March!!! We’ll be visiting friends throughout the US for weddings and don’t forget, we still need to go on our honeymoon! Alex and I realize how important it is to travel while we can, so we’re making that a priority.
I hope everyone has a very healthy, happy and adventurous 2019! Let’s do this.
xx
