When adding new items into our home, I always try to shop at places that have ethics or sustainability in mind to create a conscious home. I’m not perfect by any means, but it’s always top of mind for me.
As I continue with my interiors kick (still going strong!), I’ve rounded up five brands to know for the conscious home:
1.
The Citizenry
Source: The Citizenry
The Citizenry is a modern home decor brand. They believe home goods should tell a story and be filled with meaning. They partner with master artisans from all over the world to bring unique pieces into your home. All of their products are handmade and made in limited quantities. If you love a bohemian style, you should check them out.
2.
Ingredients LDN
Source: Ingredients LDN
Ingredients LDN is an online homewares store that celebrates a slower place of living (my cup of tea!). Their collection includes natural products with rich texture that’s created by small makers and artisans. They believe in taking the time to focus on something with attention and care – and that incorporates everything in one’s home. I particularly love their kitchen line because it feels like every piece should be in an effortless Parisian apartment.
3.
Elburne
Source: Elburne
Elburne is a green living New England brand. Not only do they have an online store but for local readers, they have a brick and mortar in Dennis, MA. They’re also opening a store in Hanover, MA too. The brand is run by two sisters who focus sourcing home products made ethically. They strive to incorporate sustainable methods into every aspect of their business from sourcing, factory relationships and shipping. I’ve bought a couple of things from them and love their accent pieces like vases and serve ware.
4.
Nkuku
Source: Nkuku
Nkuku is an online and in-store collection of beautiful, ethical and eco-friendly handmade homewares & lifestyle products. I love their lighting products. They are all so unique with an industrial twist. I think they do holiday decor really well, so come back when it gets closer to that time!
5.
Notary Ceramics
Source: Notary Ceramics
Notary Ceramics is a handmade pottery brand based in Portland, OR. Their pottery is simple and beautiful and would look great in any home. Their clays are sourced locally and made in the Pacific Northwest. You can truly tell there is heart and soul that goes into every piece. I have my eye on this hand thrown tea strainer, as I want to eliminate waste when drinking my tea.
