I practically live in jeans these days, so when I upgraded my collection a few months ago, my outfits instantly got better. Last fall, I was in desperate need of getting new pairs of jeans. My old jeans were falling apart and losing shape within an hour of wearing them. So I bought three pairs of Everlane jeans I’d been eyeing for a while during a holiday sale. After a few months of wearing them, I figured I’d share my Everlane jeans review. Let’s dive in!
The High-Rise Skinny Jean (in mid blue)
The high-rise skinny jeans are my go to every day jeans right now. I got them in my regular size with Everlane (25) and ordered the ankle fit. I’m 5’2 and want the jeans to fit normally without having to roll up the ends (short problems). As the style description says, they’re high rise and hit right around my belly button. In my mind, that’s the perfect height.
If you like a soft almost legging like fit, these won’t be the jeans for you.
They’re a slim structured fit and you can truly feel the quality of the jeans. After a few wears, they stay pretty true to the fit. I will say they can get a bit loose around the hip section, but I partly believe it’s because my hips aren’t as wide. I like to wear these with my loafers (as seen above) and a low heeled boots.
The Authentic Stretch High-Rise Cigarette Jean (in black wash)
The high rise cigarette jeans are my favorite pair out of the bunch. They are SOOO comfortable and fit in all of the right places. These jeans are made with an innovative fabric that allows stretch but keeps the denim look. It’s a straight legged fit, so there’s some flair at the end which goes nicely with the high waisted look. Again, I go them in my regular size and ordered the ankle length. They fit as they should, right above the ankle. Although there’s a lot of stretch to them, I’ve worn them many times before washing and the fit never goes away. It molds to the shape of my body easily. If you can’t tell, I want a pair of these in every color!
I wear these jeans a lot with my Nisolo healed chelsea boots, but they are also versatile and look great with flats too.
Authentic Stretch High-Rise Skinny (in dark wash blue)
The authentic stretch skinny jeans are your classic tried and true high waisted skinny jeans. I ordered the ankle fit and sized up one (26) because of how ‘skinny’ they are. I’m glad I did because they fit just right and I wouldn’t have wanted to go any smaller. They are reliable, predictable and a staple in your closet. They stretch easily but never gets baggy after a few wears. The dark blue wash goes well with just about anything, so you’ll get a lot of wears out of them.
Clearly, I recommend Everlane’s jeans. In the past, I’ve gotten cheap pairs from Forever 21 and H&M and they just don’t last. With these jeans, they are made with quality fabric and manufactured in one of the cleanest factories. Saitex International is a game changing denim factory. Their LEED-certified facility recycles 98% of water, relies on alternative energy sources, and re purposes byproducts to create quality jeans.
Typically, standard denim factories use ‘belly’ washing machines. This means they waste as much as 1,500 liters of water per jean. Luckily, Saitex has a closed water system and super efficient jet washing machines. Unfortunately, all denim produces a toxic byproduct called sludge that can be exposed to the environment. However, Saitex extracts the sludge and transport it to a brick factory where the toxic material can no longer leech into the environment.
Not only do these jeans have a perfect fit, by they are ethically made AND priced really well. If you are need of a new pair, I highly recommend Everlane’s jeans.

I recently purchased the authentic stretch high waisted black jeans and I thought the jeans were quite stiff and uncomfortable … does that change with time ?

Hi Irene!
They definitely stretch over time! I noticed even after wearing them for a few hours, they start to stretch real nice but they won’t lose their shape. I wear these jeans when I travel (long flights) and they are really comfortable.
Hope they start to feel less stiff for you!
