It’s been a while since I last gave a clean beauty update, so I’m excited to share my latest clean beauty makeup purchases. It’s been over 3 years since I started to switch my products to clean. And honestly, the clean beauty industry just keeps getting better.
As a rule of thumb, I won’t get a new product to try until I completely run out.
And as luck had it, I ran out of my eyebrow pencil, bronzer and lipstick all at once . The good news is I’ve been wanting to try new products from different clean beauty brands. So that’s just what I did over the last couple of months. Let’s get into my review!
Ilia Color Block High Impact Lipstick – Amberlight
Ilia is truly one of my favorite clean beauty brands. I’ve used them for a couple of years now but recently, their latest products are so good! The color Amberlight is what I purchased and it’s now my go-to everyday lipstick. As described by Ilia, the color is a “french nude with a neutral undertone.” It’s super buildable, long lasting and leaves behind a nice residue.
Not to mention, this lipstick is made with organic castor seed oil to offer four times more pigment than any of Ilia’s other lipsticks. Other key ingredients include, apricot seed oil (to boost elasticity + hydration) and mango seed butter (for vitamin A and C to keep lips plump + soft).
Typically lipsticks with a matte finish leaves my lips dry, but that’s not the case with this one. Overall, I’m a big fan!
Saie Brow Butter – Medium Brown
Saie is a new beauty brand that launched within this past year. It’s been on my long list of brands to check out. They are known for their effective mascaras and eyebrow butters. So after hearing my friends rave about their products, I caved and purchased their Brow Butter in medium brown. Meaning, the butter has a sheer tinted brown color to it. I have darker eyebrows, so the the medium color works perfectly. It’s not too much of a dark contrast. However, the brown butter also comes in a clear color too.
The gel perfectly shapes my thick (+ wiry might I add) eyebrows into a fluffy natural look. Even though the shaping is subtle, I can tell a difference in how it helps frame my face. And it adds a bit of dimension with the darker color.
The key ingredients include jojoba (an antioxidant-rich ingredient to keep browns hydrated), cacao seed butter (to keep the skin hydrated + conditioned), and candelilla wax (to keep the skin protected + prevent moisture loss). Overall, it’s a yes for me!
Ere Perez Rice Powder Bronzer – Tulum
Ere Perez is a brand I haven’t tried before, but I’m so happy I tried it out because this bronzer is a game changer. I purchased their rice powder bronzer in the color Tulum. And it gives me the perfect sun-kissed glow with a matte finish. It feels so light and blends into my skin tone nicely throughout the day (especially because of the dual colors).
It’s key ingredients include oryza sativa (rice) starch (to absorb oil) and a dual color compact to suit multiple skin tones. This is super helpful because this allows me to wear the bronzer throughout the year without looking overly bronze. Simple as that!
To see how the products look as my everyday makeup, here are some close up pictures……
Next up on my reviews will be centered around my clean hair care finds. I’ve been on the hunt for a “clean” cream / gel to define my curly hair when I air dry it. Based off of some research, I’m going with Briogeo’s Curl Charisma rice amino + quinoa frizz control gel and Briogeo’s Curl Charisma rice amino + avocado leave-in defining crème. I can’t wait to try, especially after I get my haircut next week. I’m going short!
