Easy & Budget Friendly Decorations for Fall

With fall in full swing, I want to write a quick post about the easy and budget friendly changes I’ve made in the apartment to celebrate the shift in seasons. Over the past few years, I’ve come to master adding fall decor into our home without spending too much money and going overboard.

Keep timeless & quality decor items

Recycle and reuse what you already own! Don’t feel like you need to buy something new every year for those staple pieces. I’ve had this wooden pumpkin (pictured above) for three years or so. It’s a classic look that won’t go out in style and I keep pulling it out each year. If you invest in quality pieces, they will last Promise!

Source items in your yard or shop from local farms

If you’re lucky enough, break off colorful branches from your yard and place them in one of your vases (free, yes please). Or visit a local farm and stock up on apples, pumpkins or squashes. I love putting fresh apples in a wooden bowl…..it adds the perfect fall touch.

Add layers of coziness

We always have blankets around the apartment throughout the year but when it gets cold, I bring out even more! I layer more blankets on our wooden ladder or I’ll layer a blanket on our ottoman. It makes the room feel that much cozier and welcoming. The colors of the blankets are neutral, so they blend in nicely.

Create dim lighting

I get “yelled” at by Alex when it comes to lighting because I love to keep the apartment moody – and he thinks it’s too dark. But the inner coziness in me loves it. The darker hues puts me at ease and the candle light feels more natural on the eyes. If you come by the our home, you’ll find candles burning from morning all throughout the night! With supervision, of course .

Diffuse fall smells

If you have an oil diffuser, the best oils to mix are cinnamon, orange and ginger. It’s the perfect combination of spices! If you like this kind of stuff, there’s so many other combination of mixes to try via Pinterest.
