2020 is a year I will never forget.
I’m not entirely sure where to begin in reflecting on 2020. It’s been a tough year for all of us in so many ways. But one of the biggest takeaways I’ve learned is that 2020 didn’t create all of these problems, it enhanced those very same problems times a million. And it made them very present!
When I say “problems,” it’s the issues and broken actions within our modern society, government, systems, environment, relationships, personal issues, etc. Everything exploded in front of us within the last 12 months and in the midst of a global pandemic. That’s a lot to handle in a short amount of time.
So while I could list out all of the things I accomplished this year (because there have been some big wins!), I’m just really proud to have made it through the year, despite everything. And you should too.
I have learned more than ever to appreciate time and to appreciate doing the small things that make me happy (slower aspects of life). I’m so grateful for my husband, my friends, my family and my health. I’m so thankful for those who read this blog and support me. I so appreciate it all. We can all learn so much from this year, so take some time to reflect on it.
I’ve pulled together a ton of pictures that captures my favorite and important moments throughout this year. It’s always been important for me to document time, so I can look back on it (especially this momentous time in history). Some of these pictures you’ll recognize and some are personal shots that usually don’t make the cut.
Enjoy!
Although we want to believe once we enter 2021 all of our problems will go away, but that, unfortunately, won’t happen. Instead, we have to remember that everything we have learned, adjusted and adapted to survive 2020 will make us that much stronger for what is to come in the new year.
I’ll leave you will this quote from the Atlantic that really stuck with me as we enter into the new year and reflect: “And a nation that has begun to return to normal will have to decide whether to remember that normal led to this.”
xx Christine
